Id say we need something like a pagoda tower. 100 floors with unique bosses/monsters.

Adding new infernal modes is not bad or wrong in itself, but inserted in the particular state in which the game is (never any substantial injection of new content or new game dynamics, which are stale compared to the titles that are coming out on the market) combined with the mediocrity and the paucity of the new roadmap (a real mockery) just represents the final epitaph on this game.

To put it in a single sentence, increasing the numbers inside a database is the refuge of those who are not skilled, capable and perhaps do not even have the resources to develop something new if not - blasphemy - innovative.

Maybe they still keep making money with this game, but it doesn't help if they put it in their pocket instead of investing in development.

Furthermore, and I close, all this was evident and inevitable for at least a couple of years, in the eyes of those who understand a little of these things: continuing to develop on an engine like Nebula, is equivalent to pretend to make beautiful drawings using Windows Paint.

I do not feel like expressing a vote in your survey because, whether they add new infernals or not, the situation remains as I described and, therefore, having or not inf5-6-7-8-9-10 modes is totally irrelevant nowadays.

In one of CM Jesse streams he said that this year they will change Nebula engine, hope they fulfill their promise unlike last year road map that changed so many times.

but it will take a big amount of time to change the engire of this game, me thinks.

Do you really believe in that?

Do you really think a group of max 5 people can port entirety of the game to a different game engine, which they probably dont even know that well, in less than 9 months or are you just hyping yourself up cause you're starving for good news?

They cant fix set or skills issues while working with the engine they worked with for multiple years now and you're telling me they will just simply port entire game to a different game engine in under 9 months :D:D:D:D:D

Man, I wish I was so pure so I could actually believe in this.

I always hope for miracles, but I don't believe it much.

Said in another way, I don't think (but I'd be happy to be wrong) that there is any way to manage a "quick" porting of this game on any other engine.

Perhaps it is possible to reuse textures and patterns, or maybe convert them, and this certainly would be a fundamental thing. I don't know Nebula enough to talk about it.

Of course, MMORPG-oriented development platforms exist in pretty good number (Unity3D with any MMO toolkit add on, HeroEngine, CryEngine, or even Unreal if you want to turn your life into hell) but, if they have yet to start, then we will see some result in 2023.

Different speech if these last years, in which they have basically only added herbs in the maps and infernal modes in the database, have instead been spent to work in the backstage to recreate the game on a different basis, which finally allows a rapid development of expansions and new contents. But I think this hypothesis, or maybe speculation, has a 1% chance (again, glad if I were wrong).

I agree with Javah, one thing is to add a new map, another thing is to rebuild the game using a different engine.
For example, look how long we had to wait for 64 bit client...
The only way to diversify a bit the game (in my case) is to change toon, using my second or third toon just to have a bit more "action".
Every year the roadmap is interesting, pity that DSO doesn't follow that.
Still waiting for rework of "old but good events" (DSO is giving always same events now)...
still waiting for new PW boss (maybe soon there will be one, even it was expected last year)
still waiting for smart collection bags (not just entrances, but essence too)
still waiting to fix PVP (probably the wait will continue)
still waiting to fix old bugs (last Dragan event I got lvl 1 t7 item in the map, even this bug should be resolved long time ago)
Unfortunately this waiting made my friend list to be 90% red (it means many of them are not playing anymore this game)

It seems that even adding the long time announced handful of new cloaks ask them too much effort.

Let's realize what we are talking about when we only think of "changing the game engine".

Furthermore, I don't think they would even talk about a "new expansion" in late summer (before) or with r233+ (in last roadmap) (and yeah, that "+" could even means "never") if they have really in mind to switch to another dev platform within the year.

Just one of such things looks like a half miracle.... both and almost together are simply undoable and meaningless.

Well, I'm strongly against adding another bunch of Infernals, as I see neither challenge nor fun in them. At the moment the "old infernals" are pain in the rear for most of us (different reasons) and the "new ones" will bring even more frustration and leaving the game :(
Instead, I'd love to see more maps and Qs.

They added the key sack inside the ingredient sack that stores all the event items and keys.So don't throw away any event related item! ;)

Αlso they added some stuff related to the desert of essences event.
    • New essences that have elemental power.
    • New ingredients that are used to create those essences.
    • New crafting samples that let you upgrade your essences of power. (White->green->blue->purple->red)

No, it's just that they now remembered to implement the second half of the alchemy system, that's why this is coming out now.
I don't think that they are actively trying to kill the game in this instance.

I'm not so sure of that. Not even purple ingredients came out for now tbh. Maybe that's good...

Anyways, let's move to the new thread with this whole talk about the new update.

    Well, just read tooltip.

A handful of rich people without restraint will not hesitate to spend 80k anders each run (maybe the same cows that years ago wasted thousands euro in gems who became rubbish after a while).

The wide majority - that is the mass of the beggars - will trudge for who knows how long in inf4 in order to get enough fragments for inf5, then inf5 for the fragments for inf6, then once they become grandparents they will pass the fun to their grandchildren ... but in the meantime the latter will be playing already D9 or PoE6 with huge satisfaction...

Everything will depend on how consistent will be the drop of these new fragments. And again it's fresh bread for the bot users, that will continue to farm the materi as and more they ever did till now.

I bet that it is going to be something like 5-10 runs for one run on the higher mode. That can essentially mean 1000 runs in inf4 + 100 runs in inf5 + 10 runs in inf6 for a total of 1110 runs just to make one run in inf7. It might as well be 125+25+5... for a total of 155 runs in sub-highest modes for one run in inf7... but that's not the end.
Since we lack legendary fragments (and, if one trusted the rumors from the time when inf1 was the highest that they'd made it up to t12, then probably t12 too, as t11 is probably going to be the highest tier), it looks like they're planning to add inf8 later on... for exponentially increasing grind.

So here we go. They "listened" to our feedback that it's repeating what we've had, and they made a brand new unnecessary layer of grind. Amazing.

PS.: It looks like fast-farming materi in fatal is simply faster (but equally boring) than going mode-by-mode. In inf4 you can get enough t8 items to upgrade your all items to t8... then it has to be like this:
    • inf4 = t6 + t7 + a bit of t8
    • inf5 = t7 + t8 + a bit of t9
    • inf6 = t8 + t9 + a bit of t10
    • inf7 = t9 + t10 + a bit of t11
So... in inf7 you're getting t9, t10 and t11 = everything you need to upgrade your gear past t8, hence you don't need to go mode-by-mode. Skipping inf5 and inf6 looks faster, but, I'll repeat this, equally (if not more) boring as going mode-by-mode. So, even if so boring that I prolly won't do it, it's a way to upgrade your items that's way faster than platinum crafting without exploits anyways. Equipment isn't going to be that big a problem for those who want it. You all are going to need tons of materii for augment cores and tons of draken/materii/tellurian cores anyways.

Imagine farming resources for purple and, possibly, legendary royal gems in such dungeons.

I won't quit. I'll continue to just lurk about which is what I am currently doing... waiting for something playable to do.

Yes, you've read it right, devs (if you're even reading this, which I doubt). I am waiting for something playable to do, that's why I'm not playing much. Not because I "have nothing to do" which you are constantly trying to provide for, but because you're making the game unplayable; frankly, you're requiring extreme amounts of boring grind just to be able to repeat the said grind once more in same dungeons, but with a label "harder". That's not how it works.
