    It would be nice if we could add a comment/description to each friend. In the form of a floating window or something, editable.
    i.e.:
    user1 (Good helping guy, but his English sucks)
    user2 (Groups only for events)
    user3 (Avoid this guy when he wants to go to bosses on painful, he's gonna get us all killed)
    ...
    user12 (This SW sucks, he's too often in close range combat, he thinks I'm a guardian or something)
    ...
    user44 (random guy from a previous group)
    .....

    You get the point.

    That's actually a great idea. I mean I know some people will complain about prioritizing updates, but I really like this idea. It would save a lot of time and irritation.

    I don't need to put notes on all players.
    I already know who is good and who is not ... either put the player in the friend list or don't.
    Don't add people that you don't want to play with.

    I would actually like to store information like real name, age, birthday, country of origin, languages spoken, date of get-to-know... for reasons of better communication and social interaction.
    Sorry, but my brain capacity is insufficient to memorize all these. ;-)

    I'd love to know where you have this information from.
    This might also be very useful if you could display your char stats while editing the wisdom talents (and potentially changing equipped gear in your inventory at the same time), for example.

    You must either have a great memory or an extremely short list of friends :p.
    .......
    By the way... I have a question:
    I see one user in my list colored in grey. What does that mean?
    Am I in his ignore list or something?

    Hello @bLaind,

    If their name appears in grey, it just means their character is deleted. :)

    Cheers,

    My friend list is full since long time ago.
    BUT ... do I need all those acquaintances or I need a few good friends?
    I have a FB accounts with more than 1500 friends ... and I don't know a single one of them. Just like in the real life ... in this game different people are having different priorities ... You can't be friends with everyone.
    [IMG]

    I would rather have a handful of real friends ... than too many fake ones.
    Excellent ... follow this link ... a place for similar illegal activities.

    Don't you try to congratulate your "few good friends" to their birthday?
    Don't you find it embarrassing if you write to someone in English even though you once communicated in your common mother tongue? (German for me).
    Don't you think it's nice to use the real first name when meeting and greeting someone (again)?

    "I call strangers my friends because I learn things and find ways to fit them into my own world." (Charlotte Eriksson)

    I do not ask everyone for this information, of course not! But if it happens, I prefer to remember what I learned, and meeting so many people online, it's hard.
    Most of my "real friends" and guild members have multiple chars, and it is getting hard to keep track of which char belongs to whom.
    And yes, I sometimes do "abuse" the FL to "store" people temporarily, e. g. members of a random group if re-grouping is necessary due to some group bug, or chars of the same (lower) level who are also actively playing the current event. Tidying up again would be a lot easier if we had that notes feature.

    Of course, I can (and do) write a paper or excel list for all of this, but it's not convenient.

    Noted and accepted that you don't need this tool. But please also accept that quite a few others wish for it. No need to start a quarrel or become aggressively ironic about it.

    Aggressively ironic? Dude i made my statement on the topic in my first post ... the other one was reply to another reply.
    I don't know what is the situation in Germany ... maybe you have been striped from the right of "free speech" since the WW2 ... but here in the rest of the free world we have a right to freedom of expression and freedom of speech as one of the Basic Human Rights protected by all international laws.
    And among the other rights We have a right to privacy. What you are proposing is breaching all international laws by collecting Personal Information illegally. Not even governments have right to strip the people off their privacy ... not to mention the individuals and organisations.
    And no ... i am not off topic.

    So, you're telling me you do not write down the birthdays of your real life friends, somewhere? ^^
    I don't see any breach of privacy if I write down pieces of information that people voluntarily share with me (for purely personal use), as long as I do not provide this information to anyone else and don't use it for other purposes than originally intended (here: better ingame communication).
    How do you know I am from Germany? Who gave you the right to collect and use this information?

    I know I just told you my mother tongue is German. But that doesn't necessarily mean that I am from Germany.
    So actually you not only remembered and used the information I gave you, but you further processed it to make an assumption about my home country .....eeeeek!
    ;-) ... just kidding. Full stop, for me.

    Even if they give you info voluntarily ... they need to know in advance that someone is about to make a new "Passport" for them ... and even if they know in advance and still give you personal info (which doesn't mean the info is correct) BP can't afford such luxury by making a tool for private data collection and have a dispute with the law.
    T&C clearly state this:
    9.4.2 The User shall not use the Service(s) to distribute content including but not limited to pictures, videos, links, names, words which contain political, religious, insulting, offensive, violent, sexist, pornographic or other objectionable matter, especially including racist, right extremist or left extremist content, persons or depictions. In addition, the User agrees not to use any copyrighted or otherwise legally protected terms, names, pictures, videos, music, games, or other material. In case of doubt, the User shall promptly remove any content contested by Bigpoint. Bigpoint is also entitled to remove such questionable content on its own. The User will always respect any applicable laws and regulations, especially with regard to youth protection, data privacy, protection of personal rights, protection against slander and defamation, copyright laws and trademarks.
    9.4.5 Bigpoint is especially entitled to delete any information in whole or in part which has been submitted by the User and which gives firm reasons to indicate a breach of these Terms and Conditions, the instructions and rules of the respective Service(s) or are otherwise in violation of applicable law. This, for example, includes but is not limited to:
    • information which is obviously offensive, racist, fanatical, or glorifies violence;
    • information which is of a molesting, insulting, threatening, obscene, defaming nature or is libelous to other persons;
    • information which is sexist, pornographic or otherwise harmful to underage persons, or which contains links to websites unsuitable for underage persons;
    • information which is false or misleading and/or which is intended to promote illegal activities;
    • illegal or unauthorized copies or distributions of a work protected by copyright, for example by providing illegal computer programs or links to illegal computer programs, information on how to bypass copy protection measures, illegal copies of music, links to illegal copies of music or other copyright infringements;
    • the sending of junk mails, chain mails and/or unsolicited mass mails, instant messages, spimming and spamming;
    • limited-access pages or pictures which are hidden or password protected;
    • promoting or endorsing criminal activities or providing instructions for committing criminal activities, including but not limited to information on the production or purchase of arms, child pornography, fraud, drug trafficking, gambling, stalking, spamming, spimming, distribution of computer viruses and other harmful files, copyright infringement, patent infringement and/or theft of trade secrets;
    • soliciting other Users to disclose personal information for commercial or illegal purposes, or inducing them to disclose login data;
    • promoting commercial or sales activities, such as contests, raffles, swapping offers, classified ads and/or pyramid schemes;
    • providing picture(s) of another person without that person’s express consent.
    I hacked your account :D
    Joke aside :
    I don't expect someone from Sao Principe and Tome to visit the German forums ... It was just my guess you are German. :p

    If someone hands me their business card, i don't think I have to warn them I might save their mobile number which is printed on it in my smartphone's address book...
    As stated above, my purposes are neither commercial nor (afaik) illegal, but solely about personal ingame communication.
    But if you think that a greeting like "hey Greg, kalimera and happy birthday!" is an illegal purpose, well, I can't help it.
    For me, the main points about data protection and privacy (which I certainly do value!) are
    1. no passing on to third parties and

    2. no processing and connection to information from other sources.
    Just to remind you: Austria and Switzerland also have German as an official language, as well as some other countries with German minorities.
    But yeah, as Germany has the biggest German speaking population, your guess was an educated one! :)
    Have a nice evening!
    P.S. What I also just learned: It's "Sao Tomé and Príncipe", not the other way around - and their official language is Portuguese. Sharing is caring! :).

    I stand corrected ... I have typed the name inverted (unintentionally I swear :) )
    Take a look on a bright side ... I made you google it and now you know it. :D
    Knowing that I live relatively close and I am a Bayern fan :D ... I am aware of that ... that is why I said "I guess".

    Back on topic ... It doesn't matter what you and I think ... it is about BP. They can't deliver such "tool".
    Just to remind you of the protests and demonstrations that happened in the recent past ... in many countries ... and this was the main reason.
    This was my previous forum avatar
