Ideas for better PVP balancing

    Your situation leads to an interesting point of view. Try this for size:

    1. The arena becomes even more a place to play the system, rather than other players. All classes have champions; if a player can't get going, it's personal.

    2. There already is a bonus for winning, although a relatively small one. Weak players in powerful groups would get huge fame bonuses at 50%, and rapid advancement to Marshal. Should people be carried to glory?

    3. The goal of short matches is already built in. Early wins are good.
    In 6v6 the fortress is either defended, or it is not. How do you create a draw there?

    4. Potions and buffs are built into the game to give players more options (fun). Games are past-times and hobbies; past time investments and present time investments are the only real commodities. Predator or Prey both can use them.

    5. It is convenient to enlist only where you think you will win. Problem is that the pool of players will dry up, if you know your going to be beaten severely. It already takes forever to get matches sometimes; this will slow it down even more.
    If you only play with people your own level, your game improves slowly. You can learn faster if you see the pros in action, faster still if you play with them.
    Some players already check the competition: who is just hanging around the atrium or watery grave, waiting?

    I though of a new pvp mode.

    Open pvp matches.

    There are 3 teams. All teams goto waiting room when the players become unbalanced. Red yellow and blue team.

    If there are more than 2 more on a team the they goto waiting room and the playing field is reset. However there is a waiting period of 3 mins if someone leaves to see if other group has members to leave.

    There are 10 bases and within the base are you get hp back. Capturing a base gives you the crossed swords to deal 2x damage and 25% movement speed and 2x attack speed.

    Once all 10 bases are captured to a color all members are sent to waiting rooms and players are shuffled around.

    Since there is no waiting to que per say all areas are level based 1-5 6-10 and so on. If entering as a group the group goes to the waiting room. groups over 3 people will cause the arena to go into a 10 min count down where players are shuffled if the group claims all bases then that group will be disbanded and players reshuffled. Once you level past 5 10 15 ... you will exit to the waiting room of the next level.
