cant find sandling scout in spiky valley

    VII-2: The curse of the gold - Cursed Wish (4/9) in spiky valley.
    second step of the quest says find and defeat the sandling scout in the spiky valley.
    but i cannot find him and cannot activate quest guidance. how do finish the quest?

    he moves around very fast and is tough to catch Clear map and wait near upper left corner of map for him to run by He does a circuit of map and be ready when he comes back
